Latawiec by Marcianek Latawiec by Marcianek
Media: Waterbrush with ink| gray Copic markers| PS.

:bulletblue:Some time ago I had this one in a million chance (actually first time in my life, hahaha...no, seriously) to win in a lottery/raffle, organized by :iconsolfieri: <3 Aaaannnd I got this beautifull image of my character, Gloria

And I felt, I want to repay her for this, so we turned this into art-trade!

I went with an idea, that was in the back of my head for a very long time. Image is inspired by polish metal folk song, played by Zywiolak, which is strongly inspired by polish/slavic myths.
In modern word "latawiec" means simply kite, but in this song it's an angel-like creature, an evil entity, that would seduce women, put them into illusion of love and freedom from harsh life, and bring them misfortune and even death in the end...to put it very simply :D

Here's the song [link]

It was my interpretation of Ceres, based on many images, and descriptions of character, which solfieri put in her gallery...I will be honest. I love her characters, and how much insight she puts into them, and the way she does it...

So yeah ;___; sol, thank you so much for your trade, I'm so happy I could repay you with this ;3;

Thank you solfi for making me discover an artist like you! *__*
This is utterly beautiful! Your technique is just perfect and very unique! I read you mixed watercolors and copics, am I wrong? Well, I really admire artists able to mix traditional medias in original ways :love:
Your interpretation of Ceres is amazing. I've read your description and song...and I agree with you, solfi's characters are very deep and inspiring! But you surely have a great sensivity as well (and amazing skills of course!)
Just beautiful! :clap:

Actually it was so called waterbrush (like this derwent here [link] , but mine is some cheap no-name brand, but it's just awesome *_*) and it was filled with black HeroInk for fountanin pens, which can be easily dissolved by water, but it's extremly resistant to copics and promarkers (it beats even copic fineliners D: ) So I used copics for shading, without worry about the lineart. Colours and some overpainting in white were added in the end digitally :D

And thank you very much for such praise ^////^
